ASHIATSU
Relax with the best Spa Services.
Ashiatsu, also known as Barefoot Massage or Walk on Back, is a massage technique where the therapist uses their feet to apply broad, controlled pressure to the body. It is especially useful for guests who prefer deeper pressure across larger muscle areas.
Ashiatsu is not a stand-alone service. It may be included with our table massage services upon request.
What Is Ashiatsu
Ashiatsu is a massage technique that uses the therapist’s feet instead of only the hands, forearms, or elbows. The therapist uses controlled body weight to deliver smooth, even pressure across areas such as the back, shoulders, hips, and legs.
This technique can provide deeper pressure while still feeling broad and balanced rather than sharply focused.
Ashiatsu must be requested before your massage session begins so your therapist can prepare and confirm that the technique is appropriate for your selected table massage. Ashiatsu is not appropriate for every guest.
Please tell your therapist before the session if you have a history of back or spinal problems, recent injuries or surgery, osteoporosis, pregnancy, significant joint problems, or any medical condition that may make deep pressure unsafe or uncomfortable.
Benefits of Ashiatsu
Experience deeper pressure with smooth, controlled movement.
• Provides broad, deep pressure
• Helps address tight, heavily worked muscles
• Allows pressure to be distributed across larger muscle areas
• Can complement Deep Tissue and other table massages
• Offers a different feel from traditional hand-based massage
Deep pressure does not always have to feel sharp or concentrated.
For Whom is Ashiatsu best
Ashiatsu is a good option for guests who enjoy deeper pressure and want a more powerful addition to their regular table massage.
Recommended for:
• Guests who prefer firm or deep pressure
• People with larger areas of muscle tightness
• Guests who regularly choose Deep Tissue Massage
• Active clients with heavily worked back or leg muscles
• Anyone wanting to try a different massage technique
Ashiatsu is added to an eligible table massage and is not booked separately.
What to Expect During Massage session that includes Ashiatsu
Before your massage begins, let your therapist know that you would like Ashiatsu included. Your therapist will discuss your pressure preference and determine where the technique can be comfortably used during your session.
During Ashiatsu, the therapist uses controlled foot pressure over selected muscle areas while maintaining balance and control. Traditional hands-on massage techniques may also be used throughout the session.
The amount of Ashiatsu used depends on your comfort, selected massage, and the areas being treated.
Before your massage begins, let your therapist know that you would like Ashiatsu included. Your therapist will discuss your pressure preference, current areas of discomfort, and any relevant health or injury history before deciding whether the technique is appropriate.
Ashiatsu may not be suitable for guests with certain back, spinal, joint, bone, or medical conditions. If there is any concern, your therapist may use traditional hands, forearms, or other massage techniques instead.
Important: Ashiatsu must be requested before the massage session begins and is provided only when the therapist determines it is appropriate for the client.

Why Choose Ashiatsu with your massage
Ashiatsu gives guests another way to experience deeper pressure without booking a separate service. It can be blended into your table massage to provide broader pressure in areas where traditional hand techniques may feel too concentrated.
Your therapist adjusts the technique according to your comfort and the needs of your session.
